About Wow Waikawa!

Waikawa Beach in the Horowhenua is a piece of paradise. With at least 50 species of birds and various other creatures it’s ecologically rich.

We have a river, estuary, sea coast, dunes, semi-urban area (the village) and rural residential (Strathnaver) — what a winning combination!

This site celebrates what’s wonderful about Waikawa Beach, with an emphasis on environment.

Before then the emphasis was on the Wow Waikawa! photo fest that took place between November 2021 and mid-January 2022.
